Taino, Angera and Sesto Calende prepare for the event “”Trofeo Almar”

Taino and Angera are putting the finishing touches on the roads, lawns, gardens and roundabouts, crossroads and benches. The summer season brings thousands of tourists to Lake Maggiore every day, but since last year, there is another element that makes this part of the Varese province even more interesting; the event for the world’s best Under 23 cyclists, the Trofeo Almar – Coppa dei Laghi – Nation’s Cup. There will be 18 national teams at the start line on Sunday 31 July and they will compete to win a victory that is worth an life-long career for the young riders and is an almost certain passport to the world of professional cycling. Last year, Italian rider, Gianni Moscon achieved international recognition at this race, which led him to entering Team Sky, the strongest team in the world!

The town of Sesto Calende, along the banks of the Ticino, is also preparing an enthusiastic welcome for the official presentation of the event on Saturday evening, 30 July. The following teams have registered to compete so far: ALGERIA, AUSTRALIA, AUSTRIA, BELGIUM, ESTONIA, FRANCE, GERMANY, GREAT BRITAIN, ITALY, JAPAN, LUXEMBOURG, MOROCCO, NETHERLANDS, POLAND, RUSSIA, SLOVENIA, SWITZERLAND, UKRAINE.
