The president of the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), Brian Cookson will be in Cittiglio on Sunday 20 March for the 18th Alfredo Binda Trophy – Cittiglio and the 4th Da Moreno Trophy/mini-Alfredo Binda Trophy that will boast record attendances this year: “Yes, it’s true – commented Mario Minervino, president of Cycling Sport Promotion who organise the event – we will be honoured by the presence of the most important executive in world cycling and it’s the first time. We will be able to show President Cookson first hand all the initiatives undertaken by the territory to make this date in the Varese province more prestigious. We will have the opportunity to talk about the Under 23 Nations’ Cup to be held at the end of July and about another surprise that we will reveal in the next few days as we are waiting for it to be made official. I would like to thank the President of the Italian Cycling Federation, Renato Di Rocco, for his assistance in bringing President Cookson to Cittiglio; it’s good to know that the work we carry out during the year is appreciated in Rome”.
